Kurt is a member of the CJBS auditing, consulting and tax practices. He currently manages audits and reviews in the food processing, maritime shipping, real estate, and industrial manufacturing industries, as well as not-for-profit and governmental audits. He supervises tax planning and compliance for US and international businesses, as well as for individuals. Kurt served three years with a national accounting firm before becoming Controller of a multi-branch plumbing and industrial distribution firm headquartered in Chicago. In 1980 Kurt joined, and later earned a partnership in a public accounting firm that merged with CJBS in 2005.
Kurt received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Northern Illinois University in 1975. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Illinois. Kurt does extra duty when it comes to continuing education. He attends and conducts classes in auditing, governmental accounting, and both business and individual income taxes. He is responsible for much “one on one” training of the audit staff.
Kurt is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He has been heavily involved as an officer and a director in Northbrook’s youth hockey programs for several years.
Kurt would love to be able to find some time for himself. In addition to the usual CPA’s ridiculous tax season schedule, he and wife Debby wear out cars regularly keeping up with hockey star son Daniel’s prolific practice and game schedules, including many out of town tournaments.
